We Can Do It Just Like T.H.A.T.! vocal trio is Teresa McClintock (brunette), Hilary Slotta (redhead), Annie Barnes (blonde), Together:) This album features the instumental musical talents of Steve Alaniz (Saxes, Clarinet, Flute) and Teresa McClintock (keys – and computer!).
We Can Do It, completed in 2009, is a compilation of some of our very favorite songs to perform. We were doing a fair bit of gigging in the early 2000s and developed a wide repetoire including adding a few different styles of songs when requested, but all songs that fit who we are as a harmony group. This album’s got a little bit of every style we do which made it really fun to plan and to record. Also, by 2009, recording technology and software had become so easy to access and easy to use, it made it possible for us to record more tracks than on previous albums – which we were happy to do – using computer software, a piano keyboard, and one heck of a live horn and flute player to create some really run tracks! The We Can Do It album starts with an original song with a patriotic flare; has some fun with songs that were favorites back in the day for members of different branches of the service; brings a lot of nostalgia with songs from the energetic Swing Era and the sentimental 1950s; and ends with a tribute to the USA. This album was recorded at a time when our country was struggling with being grateful for what is good about the USA (kind of like now…), so we did what we could to help. Then – as always – it has been our privilege to honor America, our history, and our veterans.
