Best of the Swing Sisters, completed in 1996, was recorded with the Fran Dimmick Trio (synthesizer keys, drums, upright bass). It was our last album as The Swing Sisters, having recorded several songs on previous albums released on cassette tape (it was the 90s, after all!). Over the past 25 years, many of those songs have been re-recorded with a few of our Big Band friends for a more authentic sound of the 1940s -1950s era on our subsequent albums. (All available for streaming and/or download on this site.) We had the privilege of performing all of the songs on this album live, and they were enjoyed by thousands of people, including many, many veterans, as part of the Ramada Express’ Tribute to the1940s shows, of which we were a part in 1996-1997. It was then – and always has been – a privilege to honor our country’s finest with our music. The Swing Sisters Show and Dance Band performed at many fun venues, including Fantasy Springs Casino; Sun City venues, and Harrah’s and New York, New York in Las Vegas. We were also the “Jingle Girls” for KCMJ “Memories” radio in Palm Springs during that time (which made our moms really happy:)) We hope you enjoy Best of the Swing Sisters.
